The Last Straw

If you buy art from me, you do not own all rights to it. In fact, you only own the rights that I give you. It is MY RIGHT alone to determine if you can sell my art, even if you paid for the commission itself. My art is mine, and it is not to be altered or distributed without my permission.

If anyone is reading this, you need to look up moral copyright law immediately and educate yourselves. If, after reading this, you do not believe I am fully within my rights to control my own artwork, then YOU are part of the problem.

I have removed my art from Deviantart from the forseeable future, until the person who is selling my art either stops or decides to speak to me directly. If you see any of my art being sold by anyone other than myself, please know that I did not give permission for that to happen, and you should report it to me immediately.

Finally, I will leave you from this quote from the webmaster of the site from which I was trying to get my art removed:

"Are you that arrogant to think that once your art sold, the buyer would have to die with it? Consider then, artists such as PIcasso, Monet, Cezanne and later artists such as Salvador Dali and Wallace Nutting. Did they put limitations on their art so as to prohibit buyers from re-selling?  If that were the case, there would be no artists. Because what would be the point of drawing, painting, sculpting and creating, only to hide it away and keep it from other people who would otherwise enjoy it? As for your art, only a true Monkees fan and collector would have purchased your drawing at the price being asked.  And isn't that where you wanted it to go anyway? To a true fan? What difference does it make how it gets to their collection as long as it gets there? But because of your arrogant pride and self indulgence, it will remain with [Name Redacted]. Unseen, unappreciated and collecting dust in a closet. So keep your little cartoons all to yourself. I doubt the world will lament their absence."
