He could hear them crying for help.
None of them were hurt yet, but they would be. And here he was, locked in a cage alone, unable to do a thing to save them. He looked into the bucket of brownish water they'd given him to drink... Perhaps he was hallucinating, but he saw within it a familiar face that certainly wasn't his own.
"You have forgotten me," it said.
"No..." Kenny muttered. "How could I?"
"You have forgotten who you are, and so forgotten me," the image went on, it's tentacled face staring at him sternly from inside the bucket of water. "Look inside yourself, Kenny. You are more than what you have become. You are my son, and--"
He kicked over the bucket. Damn, he'd need to make a note to stop watching Disney films just before getting captured by evil masterminds.
But what if...
He heard Butters screaming from the next cell. Screaming in pain.
"You're not going to hurt my friends," Kenny muttered. He looked inside himself. And truth be told, the result of his self-reflection was a little disconcerting, but he was sure that he'd at least be able to break the bars of his cage now. Easily.
It was going to be convincing his friends that he wasn't going to eat them that was going to be the hard part.
